'Yukiwariso' exhibition 雪割草展開催中(英語)
Yurigahara park hold exhibition of 'Yukiwariso' at glasshouse(conservatory) from February 2 to 14. 'Yukiwariso' has small flowers of various colors and shapes. It is Hepatica nobilis var. japonica and cultivar of it. They are loved in japan hundreds of years as the flowers tell spring has come.

1. 5-minute walk from JR Gakuen Toshi Line Yurigahara Station
2. Take the Chuo Bus (Asa 25,27) from Asabu Subway Station (Namboku Line[N01]) to the Yurigahara koen mae bus stop
3. Take the Chuo Bus (Sakae 25) from Sakaemachi Subway Station (Toho Line[H01]) to Yurigahara koen mae bus stop

For entry into glass house and exhibition 130yen. You can buy tickets at the gate of glass house. (free entry for age under 15 and over 65 with any kinds of official paper which shows your age.Please show your paper at the gate of glass house. )

about 'Yukiwariso'
'Yukiwariso', botanical name Hepatica nobilis var. japonica, is sub-alpine herbaceous which distribute mainly Hokuriku region, Japan.
They are slow growing perennial with evergreen leaf. Ranunculaceae family. Some sub-species are known and cultivars are made from those.
It flowers in early spring opening petals when sun shines. More precisely, it has calyxes which looks like petals. It has no petals.
Japanise name 'Yukiwariso' refers the fact that it sometimes flowers even when it is covered by snow. 'Yuki' means snow, 'Wari' is to sprit, and 'So' means grass.
Its flower is small, has various colors and shapes.It is so in the wild and people cultivated and accelerated it . The cultivation started Edo period and began again about decades ago.
